Share Data Between Spouses or Partners, and Dependants

Complete the principal taxpayer’s Info worksheet with their marital status and details about their spouse or partner. Then, press F5 to trigger the creation of the new return. More
Go to the Dependant (Dep) worksheet and enter the dependant’s details. If you don’t plan on filing a tax return for the dependant, enter the credits transferred from the dependant too. To create a full dependant return instead, press Ctrl+F5. More
Save spouse/partner and dependant returns in the same file. Keyboard shortcuts like F5 and Ctrl+F5 take you directly to the same form for the spouse or dependant. Shift+F5 opens the spouse’s form in a window side-by-side. Taxpayer menus make it easy to jump between family member’s returns. More
Worksheets and forms automatically share data between members of the same family. Donations and medical expenses show in both the principal taxpayer and spouse’s returns regardless of where you enter the receipts. Income statements share with a spouse who is a partner in the business when you indicate the partnership share. TaxCycle automatically calculates the portion of tuition eligible for transfer to a parent.
TaxCycle automatically optimizes coupled and family returns based on the goal you choose on the Optimizations worksheet. More
Transmit or print all returns and forms for all family members in one click. More
