The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will no longer be accepting direct deposit registrations or changes submitted via EFILE or by phone starting Monday, March 24, 2025.
The CRA encourages individuals or their legal representatives to update their direct deposit information quickly and easily by signing into their CRA account or requesting it through their bank or credit union. For more information, see the CRA Newsroom article Direct deposit changes impacting EFILERS and taxpayers.
If you attempt to EFILE a T1 return containing bank account information on the T1DD form, it will be rejected by the CRA EFILE system. However, you can still use the T1DD in TaxCycle to register or change direct deposit information when transmitting a Québec TP1 return via NetFile.
We suggest transmitting the T1 return first, then adding the direct deposit banking information to the T1DD form before transmitting the TP1 return.
